ReMeMaRe Conference 2024: Restoring Estuarine & Coastal Habitats
Wednesday 10th and Thursday 11th July The Environment Agency and Ocean & Coastal Futures have come together again for the Restoring Meadow, Marsh, and Reef (ReMeMaRe) Conference 2024. Bringing together restoration practitioners, Government bodies, environmental NonGovernment Organisations (eNGOs), industry and businesses, from across the United Kingdom, with a shared vision to restore our estuaries and coasts. Providing a welcoming space for knowledge exchange and discussion on the latest developments in coastal restoration science, practice, and policy. The 2024 programme will include five sessions across one and a half days, highlighting current and future opportunities and challenges, illustrating progress and evolving practice and discussing how we achieve our restoration targets.
PML's Professor Nicola Beaumont is on the ReMeMarRe advisory group and closely linked in with this event, with some of her Sea the Value team attending this year.

About ReMeMaRe:
Restoring Meadow, Marsh and Reef (ReMeMaRe) (pronounced “re-memory”), is an ambitious habitat restoration initiative, which aims to address baseline shift and reverse centuries of decline of three of our priority estuarine and coastal habitats: seagrass meadows, saltmarshes and European native oyster reefs. By restoring these precious estuarine and coastal ecosystems, we are enhancing society’s connection to the natural world, whilst delivering Nature-based Solutions (NbS) that address issues such as climate change, loss of biodiversity, sustainable food, health and well-being, as well as the socio-economic benefits of recreation and tourism that can help to alleviate deprivation in coastal towns.
