The Copernicus Marine Environment Monitoring Service (CMEMS) provides regular and systematic reference information on the physical state, variability and dynamics of the ocean and marine ecosystems for the global ocean and the European regional seas.
The NOWMAPS (2) project provides CMEMS with this information for the North-West European Shelf region. NOWMAPS is led by the UK Met Office and includes Plymouth Marine Laboratory, the National Oceanography Centre and the Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie based in Hamburg.
The observations and forecasts provided via CMEMS support many marine users including marine safety, resource and environmental applications.
