The aim of this work is to provide estimates of total fish biomass for the Exclusive Economic Zones (EEZ) of the world’s oceans in order to estimate geographically-resolved potential changes in food provision from marine ecosystems as a result of climate change.
The estimates are model based, projected from pre-industrial times (circa 1850) to far future (circa 2099), based on specific scenarios of climate change. The outputs, in the form of data and associated report, will form part of FAO’s outlooks of potential food insecurity.
