Overview
The European Space Agency's Sea State CCI is developing a long-term consistent dataset of wave height and other parameters from spaceborne altimeters and imaging SAR, complemented by in situ observations and models. A strong focus of the project is enabling long-term climate studies, but also in improving data quality in key regions such as the coastal zone and partially ice-covered Arctic. To help tailor its products and future developments there will be a 2nd User Consultation Meeting (following the 1st UCM in Brest in Oct 2019). This event will, of course, be a virtual meeting, and we are now seeking presentations to add to our list of keynote speakers.

About Sea State CCI
The Climate Change Initiative (CCI) is an ESA programme to collate measurements from multiple satellites and other sensors to produce homogeneous datasets of the many Essential Climate Variables needed to understand the processes and effects of climate change.
The Sea State CCI commenced work in 2018 under the leadership of Fabrice Ardhuin, and delivered the v1 dataset in June 2019. This was based on altimeter data with the standard processing. Version 2 will be released shortly incorporating bespoke altimeter processing and information from SAR sensors.
