Delegation from the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology

Today PML welcomed Dr Dongxiao Wang (Vice Director) and Dr
Qiang Xie (Director of Research Planning Office) from the South
China Seas Institute of Oceanology (SCSIO). The visit was mainly to
discuss future collaborative projects, with a focus on ocean
observation systems, air/sea interactions, climate change and the
response of South China to global warming.
The visit builds upon previous joint activites including
workshops, a Cafe Scientifique event on ocean acidification and
presentations at the Marine Environmental Change of the South China
Sea conference in 2009.
