Opening of the Marine Matters Centre

The opening ceremony for the Marine
Matters Centre was a resounding success; congratulations and
thanks to everyone concerned for making this an enjoyable
morning.
Guests included Dr. Hyoun-Woo Kang of the
Korea Ocean Research and Development Institute (KORDI), the Lord
Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Plymouth, PML Chairman Mr Terence Lewis,
our generous supporters the Kirby Laing Foundation and of course
PML staff members and Trustees.
The group was welcomed by Professor de Mora,
followed by the formal opening of the centre by the Kirby Laing
Foundation and Mr Terence Lewis. Keynote presentations were given
subsequently by Dr Hyoun-Woo Kang and Professor Manuel Barange
before the group dispersed for a celebratory buffet.
We look forward to the future and using
this valuable new facility for delivering the latest marine science
to larger groups of people.
