Indo-European research facilities for studies on marine ecosystem and climate in India (INDOMARECLIM)

The INDO-MARECLIM project aims to facilitate and improve the co-operation between the European Union Member States and Associated Countries and India, including partners from UK, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Norway. Using ‘NERCI’ (the Nansen Environmental Research Centre, India) as a joint research facility, the INDO-MARECLIM partners will research topics of relevance to India, such as monsoon climate variability, marine ecosystems and coastal management.

INDO-MARECLIM aims to strengthen links between Europe and India, encouraging collaboration through programmes for PhD and Postdoctoral students, such as the project’s ‘winter school’. The school stimulates training and capacity building through providing lectures and practical workshops. It also helps develop collaborative research in terms of how future environmental and climate change will impact on society.

As a partner in INDO-MARECLIM we address key issues by way of model experiments, remote sensing studies and analyses of data collected and compiled from different sources.
