Momme is a Senior Scientist at PML. In his role as a Marine Ecosystem Modeller, he leads the development of the ecosystem model ERSEM (created in-house) as well as its coupling to current general circulation models such as NEMO, POLCOMS and GOTM, studies on ecosystem trends, natural variability, inter-annual variability and model uncertainty.

Momme has a strong involvement in a multitude of research initiatives such as the EU framework 7 projects MEECE, EURO-BASIN, MyOcean 2, OPEC, VECTORS and MEDINA as well as NERC projects Shelf Sea Biogeochemistry and UKOA.

Prior to working at PML, Momme studied for a Masters degree in Engineering Physics at the Technische Universität Berlin, Kungliga Tekniska Högskolan Stockholm, before completing a PhD at the Università di Bologna in Geophysics on Marine Ecosystem Modelling
