PML - University of Exeter Research Day 2017

This is the fourth annual Research Day since the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between PML and the University of Exeter (UoE) in July 2013.

This MoU reconfirmed our commitment to work together more strategically to grow our research activities and leverage research funding. Collaboration was pump-primed through establishment of the Collaboration Fund, which funded 16 projects over four rounds. 

The aim of the research day is to build on existing partnerships and facilitate further collaborative discussion between our institutions. 

09.00 - 16.00

09.30: Arrival and registration. Refreshments available
10.00: Introductory session,Prof Tamara Galloway (UoE) and Prof Icarus Allen (PML)
10.15: Presentations from collaboration fund awardees. Chaired by Prof Tamara Galloway
11.00: Single Cell Genomics Facility. To be confirmed
11.20: Poster session/ networking/ coffee
​11.50: The South West Partnership for Environment and Economic Prosperity (SWEEP) Prof Ian Bateman
​12.15: Support for building collaborations, Dr Beccy Mitchell
12.30: Lunch, posters, networking and tours of the LSI
​14.15: Presentations on new collaborative opportunities and initiatives, chaired by Prof Icarus Allen
15.25: Discussion groups (tea and coffee available)Suggested topics include:
• Single cell genomics/ micro and molecular biology
• Innovation and the environment
• Environmental response to stress
15.50​: Feedback from discussion groups and wrap up, Prof Tamara Galloway and Prof Icarus Allen
